GATHERING OF THE TRIBES 2008

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

THIS SCHEDULE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE

More speakers are coming but have not sent us their workshop description yet. A final schedule will be available at the gathering.

THURSDAY - MAY 29, 2008

BEGINNING OF DAY THOUGHTS: Our Gathering promotes peace between all peoples. Go quietly and peacefully in the midst of turmoil and everyday tensions. Forget for the moment all your troubles and concerns. Open yourself to the light of understanding.

There will be children's events every day. Please check the schedule board at the registration tent for time and place.

The Workshop Locations are all in the area known as the "Unicorn Grove". You will be issued a map when you arrive, which will identify the different camping areas, workshops, etc.

Rhuddlwm Gawr is the Author of "Celtic Crystal Magick" and will take you through the basics of how and why Quartz crystals are an effective tool in the use of magick.

Bellydance Basics and Essentials:

This workshop will define and refine the basic skills and forms that are essential to all types of bellydance from folkloric to fusion, Cabaret to Improvisational. Included will be basic hip, chest, shoulder, arm and head techniques, with a special emphasis on correct posture to protect your body while displaying your dance to the greatest effect. Some improvisational cues will also be discussed so you can dance with your friends around the bonfire!
Please wear comfortable, but form-fitting clothing so I may monitor your posture and bring drinking water. Feel free to expose your belly, wear a jingly hip scarf, and release your inner bellydancer! Bellydance is a dance of community, acceptance, and celebration, and in being that, it celebrates the human body in all its glorious shapes, sizes, colors, and abilities. EVERYONE (male or female) is welcome to join us!

Ritual will be Saturday Evening. Please honor us by attending and wearing your ritual attire. Circle will be cast, then opened for entrance. Please take this time to meditate, calm yourself to enjoy the celebration of our rite.
