THE HISTORY OF WELSH WITCHCRAFT AND MODERN WICCAE

By Taliesen Enion Vawr and Rhuddlwm Gawr"

There is nothing permanent except change." Heraclitus 540-475 B.C.

Open bookWitchcraft has existed in most of the world from the beginning of time immemorial as an outgrowth of humanities' first religion, shamanism. The word "Witchcraft" has been around for several hundred years, and it is commonly translated as meaning "the craft of the wise." This is based not on the actual meaning of the word, but on the modern translation of it. It seems much more likely that the real meaning of the word in its original usage was "the craft of bending/twisting/using psychic power."

In this section, of the Word, you are going to embark on a journey, which will take you from the stirrings of ancient Witchcraft and Druidry, to the creation of the religion of Modern Wicca.  On this journey, you will meet many wonderful people and visit strange and beautiful sacred places.  Stonehenge, Avebury Circle, Glastonbury Tor, Pentre Ifan, and much more.
