"There ought to be limits
to freedom..."

— George W. Bush,

QUOTE OF THE MONTH: "If you don't think it's a gamble to put a man in the White House who believes we should have guns in church, who thinks the Taliban is a rock band, who was such a failure as a businessman that his company was nicknamed "El-Busto," who wants to turn our Social Security system into a Wall Street boiler room, who can't name a single thing he disagrees with Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson on, who smeared a bona fide hero named John McCain, and whose principle policy proposal is to give America's surplus to the idle rich in the form of a $1.3 trillion tax cut, you're either nuts or a Republican."

George W. (Dubya) Bush's secret platform contains specific action items which the RFCSE opposes on religious grounds.  Several people have reportedly analyzed the tape of the speech and notes of conversations which occurred behind closed doors at a Council for National Policy meeting in San Antonio, Texas.  We have obtained one such analysis of the action items which closely matches the wishes of the Christian Coalition and other right wing religious extremists.  Again, we could not confirm the wording of the actual speech.  And we could not confirm whether the below points of Mr. Bush's platform are totally accurate.  But by the refusal of the Bush campaign to release the actual tape, we can only think that the following notes hit home.  As soon as a COMPLETE copy of the G.W. Bush portion of the tape is released, we will print a complete transcript.
  • CIVIL RIGHTS: "He stated that he is in favor of denying (special) civil rights to Americans.  He believes Gays should have less rights than other citizens.  He also feels that if the truth be known, women need fewer rights.  He believes women have no business in politics.  He thinks that there also should not be a right to ridicule candidates on the Internet." (In fact our analysis of his public and private remarks show that George is in favor of altering the first amendment and making homosexuality a federal crime.)

  • PRAYER IN SCHOOLS: "He said that if he is elected president, he will make sure that there is Christian prayers in schools.  If he has his way, all prayers will be Christian." (and no one will be allowed to pray in any other language but English, and to any other god but the Christian God.)

  • GUNS, TOBACCO, AND HEALTH CARE: He said he will work to put a stop to lawsuits against the gun industry, the tobacco industry and HMOs.  He feels that there is too much litigation in America and the lawyers are getting too rich."

  • CHOICE: He said he will work hard to overturn Roe v. Wade, and will keep the FDA from approving abortion pills.  He will appoint only anti-choice Supreme Court Justices and judges to the federal bench."

  • IRAQ: He is reported to have said that Clinton should have attacked Iraq to destroy them because they tried to assasinate his daddy. (George Bush I)  But that he will take care of Iraq when he is president. (It looks like he carried out that threat!)

  • PUBLIC SCHOOLS: He stated that he is in favor of doing away with the public school system. He believes that we can do much better with Christian and Corporate run schools. He believes that the trouble with the teacher unions are they are a bunch of liberal slackers and have no idea how to teach. (and his friends and donors which sell Voucher systems to the states and are trying to sell them to the federal government, those who run Christian Schools AND select the children who attend, can make a lot of money!!)

  • GUN SAFETY: He said he will fight against an attempt to make it difficult to buy guns and he will fight against unreasonable gun safety.  He will promise to make the Oval Office a graveyard for gun safety laws.  ( and make it easier for citizens to kill one another!)

  • CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM: His remarks included the statement that he will fight campaign finance reform after he becomes president.  He believes it is anti Republican and will be treated as unworkable.   But, he will pass legislation making it more difficult for Unions to donate money to Democrats. (This of course is what the Republican party has been after all along, for without the corporate donors, there would be no Republican party.)

  • ENVIRONMENT: He said he will fight additional efforts to protect the environment.  He  favors letting Industry police itself.  He will dismantle the Environmental Protection Agency.  He believes American citizens have a right to dispose of its waste and should only be limited by convenience and land ownership. (Since corporate Donors create the pollution, they would of course wish a favorable environment for their unethical practices.  Click Here to see Bush on the Environment)

  • SOCIAL SECURITY: He was adament that he would dismantle the Social Security System.  His goal is to take 100% of the money currently being deducted out of America's paycheck and invest it in the stock market. ( Why would George want to put our money in the stock market?  His friends in the far right who want to get their hands on the money and give it to Wall Street money managers who will make billions off of our money!!  It hasn't worked in Florida where his brother Jeb is complaining that money is being lost by certain state agencies because they have money in the stock market.)

  • GAYS: He said he will remove all Gay's from the Military by executive order.  If they won't go peacefully, he will imprison them. (He and a republican congress have indicated they will make Homosexuality a crime)

  • SEPERATION OF CHURCH AND STATE: He remarked that he is in favor of revoking First Amendment guarantees of the separation of church and state and freedom of speech. (See his quote above when he tried to shut down a web page which had a parody of his web site.)

  • RELIGION: He said that only Christianity is a real religion and that he will remove Wiccan and other religions he doesn't agree with from the armed forces by executive order.  He confided to a small group of listeners, that as commander in chief of the armed forces, no one will dare cross him. ("First he came for the Witches, but I didn't care because I wasn't a Witch; then he came for the Astrologers, but I didn't care, because I wasn't a Astrologer, then he came for the Jews, but I didn't care I wasn't a Jew; then he came for the blacks, but I didn't care, I wasn't a black; then he came for me."  This country has much to fear from George W. Bush and the Religious Right in the Republican party.)

Our Original Web Master, an associate died after a threat from a Hacker who did not appreciate Religious Freedom.  Before she died, she asked us to continue her Religious Freedom Page.  We will.  Even though we have been attacked by Right Wing extremists, we still exist because of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson, who were deists (not Christians), helped frame the Constitution of The United States of American and placed language in the First Amendment to guarantee Religious Rights for all Americans.  We will uphold that tradition.
