YOUR WORKSHOP LEADER: WILLIAM WHEELER
William Wheeler is an author, Lecturer and Earth Religion Consultant. He has researched Alternative and Earth Religions, Cults, and the Occult since 1973. He has acted as a consultant on the subjects of Witchcraft, Wicca and Paganism for government officials. William Wheelers in-depth training workshop regarding "Understanding Wicca, Witchcraft, Paganism, Shamanism, Satanism and other Alternative Religions" has been presented to law enforcement, churches and other social service organizations. William Wheeler's collection of ritual implements has been used in workshops to show their religious significance and further understanding of various religions discussed. He is a Certified Mediator in the state of Georgia. He has degrees in Environmental Design, Psychology, and Religion. William Wheeler developed the Law Enforcement Occult Training Program, which is dedicated to the instruction of law enforcement on Pagan, Wicca and Witchcraft and other Occult matters. William Wheeler is author of "Understanding Earth Religions - a Law Enforcement Guide" and various other books on the subject of Witchcraft, Wicca, and Magick. William Wheeler has acquired knowledge of these subjects first hand.
WORKSHOPS AND SERVICES
Workshops taught by William Wheeler are available for Schools, Churches, and Social
Services. Intensive workshops are available for Law Enforcement Agencies. William
Wheeler will teach Paganism in a Law Enforcement context. He will inform you about
various groups which may be classified as cults and which may not be ethical.
Workshops include audience interaction, role playing, videos, ritual tools,
and jewelry on display.
Workshops can be customized to fit your groups time and focus. William Wheeler is very
flexible as to the needs of his audience.
We maintain a research library of information on Witchcraft, Wicca, Paganism, Neo-Paganism
and Occult subjects. We have a reading list available.
William Wheeler provides consultation to those agencies seeking assistance and information
on handling the understanding of Witchcraft, Wicca, Pagan and Cult/Occult related matters.
Qualified agencies can receive information on ordering the "Understanding Earth
Religions - a Law Enforcement Guide", a manual by William Wheeler, providing an
understanding of the differences between Neo-Paganism, Witchcraft, Wicca, Cults and
Satanism as well as recognizing and intervening in occult related criminal matters.

OUTLINE OF SAMPLE WORKSHOP
A Four Day Comprehensive Program is available for your agency on the subject of understanding Occult, New Age and Earth Religion Practices. William Wheeler will attempt to cover as much information as possible and still concentrate on giving the Law Enforcement Officer the tools to understand the terminology and belief systems of persons who are involved in Earth Religions, New Age Groups, Satanism, and "The Occult"
The below Itinerary is the example of a four day workshop which will educate law enforcement and other groups in the "Magickal Religions" which have sprung up, so-to-speak, in the last thirty years. The eighteen (18) hour workshop can be broken down any way you wish. It can be as comprehensive or as general as you want.
The cost for a Comprehensive Workshop (18 hours) is $250 per person plus expenses. Minimum attendance is three participants. Maximum is thirty participants.
The cost for a General Workshop only covering the third day through the fourth day is $150 per person plus expenses.
Expenses are negotiable depending on the distance from Atlanta, Georgia.
FIRST DAY - FOUR HOURS
William Wheeler Will Cover:
1. The Constitution and First Amendment Religious Rights
What is a Religion? How can you be sure that what you are seeing or hearing about is or is NOT a religion.
What has the Constitution, Founding Fathers and the Supreme Court said about the religious rights of Americans?
What has the the IRS and Supreme Court said about what constitutes a Church? It will surprise you, keep you out of trouble and keep your organization from being sued.
Suspending your belief system when trying to understand another person's religion. This will be the hardest thing for most of you to do, but if you are going to approach an Occult investigation in a professional manner, it is vitally necessary.
SECOND DAY - FOUR HOURS
William Wheeler Will Cover:
2. History of the Occult
The Inquisition and the myth of Medieval or Gothic Witchcraft. What you have heard about Witchcraft may or may not be true.
Benjamin Franklin, and the Hell Fire Club (Yes one of the founders of America also delved into the occult!)
Rosicrucians, Golden Dawn, The OTO, Aleister Crowley, and other Magickal Groups. This will give you background on how to identify certain types of Magickal philosophy.
The Rise of Witchcraft and Neo-Paganism. Where did this movement come from?
The Creation of The Church of Satan and the Church of Set. Who formed them and what are they? Would it surprise you to know that prior to the 1980s there were no reports of Satanic Crimes or Ritual Sacrifice? And Why?
What is a Cult in any Religion? Moonies. Jim Jones. Waco. Scientology. We will go into these groups as well, and why in some cases their members may have more problems than Pagans.
THIRD DAY - FOUR HOURS
William Wheeler Will Cover:
3. Witchcraft - Traditional, Eclectic and Family Trad. Their origins and philosophy. Various groups identified.
4. Wicca - Gardnerian, Alexandrian, Traditional, Eclectic. Their origins and philosophy. Various groups identified.
5. Paganism and Neo-Paganism. Their origins and philosophy. Various groups identified.
6. Druidism or Druidry. Their origins and philosophy. Various Groups identified.
7. Goths and the Gothic Culture/Lifestyle? (it is sometimes mistaken for Satanism)
Christian Goths. Their origins and philosophy
Pagan Goths. Their origins and philosophy
Satanic Goths. Their origins and philosophy
Vampire Goths. Their origins and philosophy
8. Shamanism. What is it and why it may be mistaken for Witchcraft?
9. Santeria, Vodun (Voodoo), Macumba, etc. These Magico-religions will be found in many South American countries including Haiti, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Cuba, Brazil, etc.
FOURTH DAY - SIX HOURS
William Wheeler Will Cover:
10. What is the difference between an Actual and a Self Styled Practitioner of the above Religions?
11. What Rituals, Symbols, Practitioners, and Ritual sites are associated with the above?
What clothing, ritual tools, altars and books might you might find at Ritual Sites?
How do followers of Earth Oriented Religions worship and act?
What is a Ritual?
What is a Full Moon Ritual?
What is a Circle?
What is Magick/ Magic?
What is Meditation?
What is Initiation?
What is a Sabbat, Festival or Gathering?
12. Satanism - What is it?
Dabblers - Teen Age Interests and "Clubs" or "Gangs"
Self Styled
Church of Satan and Temple of Set
Classic or Fantasy Satanism based on Stories of Inquisition
13. Crime involving Cult and/or Occult type behavior?
Understanding the Occult vs a Cult?
How are criminal investigations conducted when there seems to be Cult or Occult activity involved?
Ritual site interpretation - is it Satanic or is it Pagan? How to recognize evidence of a legitimate ritual vs illegal activities.
Interviewing subjects - who is your subject and what belief system does he or she follow?
14. Each Participant will receive: 1) "Understanding Earth Religions - a Law Enforcement Manual", by William Wheeler; 2) The book, "A Law Enforcement Guide to Wicca", by Kerr Cuhulain; 3) A Occult Dictionary and Glossary Manual; 4) Additional Handouts; 5) A List of publications and websites concerning Law Enforcement and the Occult, and 6) A Certificate of Completion.
